Peanut Butter Cauldron Mix Recipe

Peanut Butter Cauldron Mix Recipe
I always try to serve one or two cauldron mixes at my annual Halloween BOO-ffet. This year, I decided to make a new one that is mostly peanut butter and peanuts. Jelly goes well with peanut butter, so I threw in some jelly pumpkins. The Official Hancock Tasters, including Mr. Picky, agreed that this one is addictive.

You can make this yummy mix up to a month ahead of your BOO-ffet, and keep it in an airtight container. Make sure you hide it, or you’ll find yourself making it again.

64 Servings

3 cups peanut butter chips
1/2 cup butter
1 cup peanut butter

10 cups Crispix cereal
4 cups roasted peanuts
4 cups mini pretzels

3 cups powdered sugar

2 cups Peanut Butter M&Ms
1 16 oz. package Reeses's Pieces
2 cups Peanut M & M's candies
1 16 oz. package jelly pumpkins

  1. Melt the peanut butter chips, butter, and peanut butter in the microwave, stirring every minute or so until smooth (takes about 3 minutes).
  2. Mix the Crispix, peanuts, and pretzels in a large bowl. Pour the peanut butter mixture over and mix well.
  3. Measure the powdered sugar in a large paper bag. Pour the mixture into the bag. Fold the top down several times and shake well, making sure the snack mix is evenly coated.
  4. Transfer to large baking sheets to dry for an hour or two.
  5. Mix with the candies and store in an airtight container.
