DIY Wedding Suite Template - Art Deco Invitation

In this Affinity® Designer tutorial, we will add the text to the 5 by 7 inches invitation template that is part of the DIY Wedding Suite. We will continue to work on the ArtDecoTemplate.afdesign file.
We will be using two common fonts in this tutorial. They are both free from Google Fonts. We will use the script font named Dancing Script for the names for the bride and groom. We will use the Sans-serif font named Montserrat for the other text on the invitation.
These fonts were used because they are open source and free. Fill free to use your own choice of fonts and font colors for your invitation template.

- Open the ArtDecoTemplate.afdesign file.
- From the Menubar, click View - Show Grid.
- Turn off the Visibility for the background layer. This will make it easier to see the grid.
- Select the Monogram.afdesign layer in the Layers panel.
- Resize the monogram to 1.25 inch and center it about .75 inch down from the top of the invitation (see screenshot).
- From the Context Menubar, set the Font to Montserrat, the Font Style to Regular, Font Size to 12 pt, Font Color to #000000 and alignment to Center Align.
- Add the text below as the first line of text to the canvas. Center the text slightly below the monogram.
- Change the Font to Dancing Script, the Font Style to Regular, the Font Size to 36 pt, Font Color to #D4B921 and alignment to Center Align.
- Center the following text below the previous line of text and about 2.5 inches from the top of the card (see screenshot).
- Change the font back to the Montserrat settings and add the following information under the name of the bride and groom. Place it about 4.25 inches from the top of the card (see screenshot).
- Turn on the Visibility of the background layer in the Layers panel.
- Click File - Save As and name the document ArtDecoInvitationTemplate.afdesign.
At this point, the font used for the initials in the monogram is set to Snell Roundhand. Feel free to change this as you wish. In the example, I have changed the font to Dancing Script.
Now we will add the information text.
Now we will add the names to the template.
&
Groom's Name
Date and Time
Location
City, State
Now we have the Invitation template ready to customize. Consider the text as placeholder text. You can change the text as you wish for each wedding project. Of course, you will want to replace the placeholder text for the real name of the bride and groom. On the other hand, you can change the host, request, date and time and place for the wedding. And don't forget to change the font and the letters in the monogram.
